3 Sask. players on men's hockey team for Sochi

Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz and Patrick Marleau will travel to Sochi, Russia, next month to defend Canada's 2010 Olympic gold medal.

Sask. has more players on Team Canada per capita than any other province

Three Saskatchewan players will be part of the men's Olympic hockey team.

Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz and Patrick Marleau will travel to Sochi, Russia, next month to defend Canada's 2010 Olympic gold medal.

Marleau is from Aneroid, Sask., while Getzlaf and Kunitz are from Regina.

The head coach of the team is Saskatoon's Mike Babcock.

While Saskatchewan placed three players on the squad, the neighbouring provinces of Alberta and Manitoba had one apiece.

Saskatchewan placed more players per capita on Team Canada than any other province.

Canada's first game is on Feb.13, against Norway.
