2 men charged in homicide near North Battleford
Men, ages 18 and 19, each face second degree murder charge
Two men are facing second degree murder charges in the death of a a 24-year-old from Moosomin First Nation, located near North Battleford.
Bryan Darnell Blackstar died on Sunday on the reserve.
Police responded to a reported assault at a home on the First Nation at about 4:40 a.m. CST. Blackstar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men were initially considered suspects in the death and were taken into custody.
Officers said there were numerous people at the home at the time of the incident from who they took statements.
The RCMP have now charged two men, ages 18 and 19, with second degree murder.
The pair will remain behind bars until their next court date, which is next month.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death had been tentatively set for Tuesday.
