Two people are dead after a highway crash between a pickup truck and a car just south of Canora, Sask., Saturday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Highway 9 about 16 kilometres outside of Canora at about 10:30 p.m. CST.

The 48-year-old woman and 54-year-old man, both of Buchanan, Sask., were travelling in the car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to the Yorkton Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Their names have not been released.

The 37-year-old man driving the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. He is from Theodore, Sask.

Police have not released many details on how the crash happened.

The RCMP continue to investigate.
