A collision late Friday night on Highway 11 near MacDowell, Sask., has claimed two lives.

RCMP said four other people were injured in the crash, which occurred at about 11 p.m.

The extent of their injuries was not known.

Police said one vehicle veered in front of the other vehicle as it approached, police said.

Both drivers died in the crash, police said. Their names were not released.

A section of the highway had to be closed and traffic rerouted for almost two hours.

MacDowell is about 25 kilometres southwest of Prince Albert.
