2 injured after train hits truck near Vonda, Sask.

Police are investigating after a truck entered a railway crossing and was struck by a train near Vonda, Sask. A man and a woman are in hospital and are in stable condition.

A man and a woman are in hospital after a train collided with a truck at a railway crossing northeast of Vonda, Sask. Saturday morning. 

Vonda is approximately 50 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.

Emergency crews received a report of a vehicle and train collision just before noon today. Saskatoon RCMP, and nearby firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene. 

Police say the southbound truck entered the railway crossing in front of the west bound train and was struck.

The 19-year-old driver was taken by STARS air ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. He is in stable condition.

A woman, who was a passenger in the truck, was also injured in the crash. She was taken to hospital by ambulance and is in stable condition.

RMCP and CN continue to investigate.
