Two people are dead following a head-on collision on a grid road near Canwood, Sask., RCMP say.
Police said they were called about the crash at 2:28 p.m. CST, which took place on a grid road number 790.
Canwood is about 170 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
RCMP said a westbound Pontiac Sunfire collided with an eastbound Ford Taurus.
There were three people in the Sunfire and two of them, the driver and a front seat passenger, died at the scene.
Police did not have complete details on the identities of the victims. They said both of the victims were men and one was 31 years old.
They added that the driver and the surviving passenger are both from the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
Police said two women, both 61, in the other car were taken to hospital in Shellbrook.
"Alcohol and road conditions are believed to be a factor in this crash," RCMP said in their news release.
