One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on the highway near Kindersley on Monday morning.

Just before 8 a.m. CST, a semi-trailer and a red car collided on Highway 7 about two kilometres west of the town, the RCMP said.

The male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi wasn't injured.

Traffic on the highway had to be rerouted in both directions.

The RCMP didn't provide any details about how the crash happened. A traffic reconstructionist is heading to the scene, the RCMP said.

Police said no information about the victim was immediately available.

Kindersley is approximately 200 kilometres west of Saskatoon.
