1 dead after car crash northwest of Saskatoon

One person has died after two vehicles collided on a rural road north of Saskatoon Thursday. Police say the crash happened around 2:05 p.m. CST near the intersection of 71st Street and Auction Mart Road.

One person has died after two vehicles collided on a rural road north of Saskatoon on Thursday.

Police say the crash happened around 2:05 p.m. CST, near the intersection of 71st Street and Auction Mart Road.

No other details have been released about the deceased. Police say the driver of the other car was examined at the scene and did not sustain serious injuries.

Police have blocked off the area while they investigate the crash. The road will likely be closed until later on Thursday evening, so drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes.

Police say a full media release will be released later in the evening after officers clear the scene.
