Romanow "encouraged" by poll, Melenchuk not "discouraged"
Roy Romanow is doing his best to sound not too enthusiastic about results from a poll. The poll was done for the Regina Leader Post and a private radio station.
New Democrats have the support of 49 percent of decided voters, according to the survey. And Romanow says the numbers are encouraging. However, he says he's not overly confident, and not taking anything for granted.
"I think the people of Saskatchewan have said they like our record, by and large," Romanow says.
The poll also shows the Saskatchewan Party is second, with support of 30 percent of decided voters.
Liberals are third, at 19 percent.
But the poll also found just over a third of those questioned are still undecided, or won't say who they'll be voting for.
Liberal party leader Jim Melenchuk says that shows an opportunity for his party to make gains.
A thousand people were questioned, last week. . The poll is considered accurate to within 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
