Riding profile

riding map

Located at the eastern end of Quebec's Montérégie region, east of Montreal, Johnson includes the communities of Acton Vale, Béthanie, Durham-Sud, Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton, Sainte-Hélène-de-Bagot, Saint-Joachim-de-Shefford, Upton and Wickham. The riding was created for the 1973 election and has been adjusted several times since. In 2011, it underwent a major redistribution, losing about half its eastern territory and gaining a bit of the old riding of Drummond to the north.

Political history

Since 1973, the riding has been held by the Liberals, Union Nationale, Parti Québécois and Action Démocratique du Québec at various times.
