Charlottetown restaurants are saying the 2014 WinterDine was the most successful yet. (WinterDine)

A special restaurant promotion in Charlottetown has been extended for delegates of a Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference and trade show, which is in the city this week.

The annual dining festival has been on for three weeks, with 21 restaurants participating. Each restaurant offered a special three-course menu, priced at $25 or $35.

Thirteen restaurants will offer those menus again this weekend.

Kent Wilson, head chef at the Old Triangle, one of the participating restaurants, said this year's WinterDine was more successful than last year's, and much like other dining festivals in the city, he says WinterDine is growing.

" I think like everything else — Porktoberfest, Burger Love — as it goes it gets bigger and more known," said Wilson.

Most participating restaurants reported having to turn people away.
