Unemployment on P.E.I. fell in October, continuing a general downward trend that began in March.
The rate fell from 11 to 10.7 per cent. Much of the drop in the unemployment rate since March has come from a steady decrease in the size of the workforce, but October showed strong job growth, and an increase in the number of people looking for work.
These most recent numbers suggest the workforce numbers may be levelling off.
There was growth in both full-time and part-time jobs, but the overall number of jobs currently in the economy is still lower than the all-time high hit in April.
