Two people escape van before it catches fire in Springvale

Two people escape a rolled-over vehicle in Springvale. P.E.I. before it became engulfed in flames, according to an RCMP release.

RCMP and fire officials on the Island were called to a fiery crash at around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday after a van rolled over along Route 2 near the Silver Bells Christmas Tree farm.

Police say the panel van was west-bound in the Springvale area when the driver lost control.

The vehicle, which had a full tank of gas, rolled and caught fire.

Two people were able to pull themselves to safety before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Both were transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with what police said appeared to be minor injuries.
