Two men have been arrested in connection with the thefts of nine vehicles in and around Lower Montague, P.E.I., according to RCMP.
The vehicle thefts took place between Jan. 5 and March 14.
Kings District RCMP said the men, aged 18 and 19, are in custody after being arrested Thursday night.
Each will be charged with vehicle theft, and one of the men will be charged with breach of probation, according to RCMP.
Police said the Kings District Street Level Drug Unit provided assistance in the investigation, which is continuing, and additional charges may be laid.
It is alleged the two men stole vehicles that were left unlocked with the keys inside. In most cases, police said, the vehicles were abandoned close to where they were taken.
While none of the vehicles were damaged, items were stolen from some, including $2,500 worth of camera equipment which has been recovered.
Kings District RCMP are reminding members of the public to lock their vehicles, and refrain from leaving keys or valuables inside.
"Most thefts of or from vehicles, are crimes of opportunity, and locking your vehicle will deter a potential thief," said Staff Sgt. Kevin Baillie.
