The members of Coyote hope someone returns the three guitars, three keyboards and one bass that were stolen from them.
"You know, we're not angry," said Bruce Rooney, lead guitarist of the Charlottetown-based band.
"We're not looking for vengeance or anything like that. It just comes down to, we really want to get the gear back. It's a part of us, it's a part of our lives and it's really the sound of Coyote."
Friday night, the band was on its way to perform at the Cloggeroo Festival in Georgetown when members realized that most of their instruments were missing from their van.
The van was outside Upper Prince Street in Charlottetown. Band members suspect the theft happened sometime on Friday.
Rooney said the stolen equipment is worth more than $10,000. It includes:
- Gibson Midtown custom electric guitar
- Fender Jaguar Reissue electric guitar
- Ibanez Artcore Hollowbody electric guitar
- Epiphone Thunderbird VPro 5 string electric bass
- Korg R3 synth keyboard
- Korg SV1 keyboard
- Nord LEAD keyboard.
The band is asking for help on Facebook and Twitter. It has also contacted the local police, pawn shops and music stores.
Rooney said the band is offering a reward to anyone who has a lead on the stolen equipment.
For now, it plans to rent instruments for upcoming gigs and possibly the national tour that begins in two weeks.
