Student sailors touch land after 3-week voyage
'It's nice to be home,' says student of the Fair Jeanne
Two Island high school students that were part of a crew aboard the Fair Jeanne tall ship, touched land in P.E.I. after three weeks sailing from Ontario.
Calem Harris and Anna Vail boarded the Fair Jeanne earlier this month earning high school credit through the Bytown Brigantine sailor trainee program.
When students aren't furling or tacking the sails, they are taught arts and drama courses.
"It's pretty different, you know. I'm pretty used to going back and forth all the time, running into walls," said Vail. "But it's nice to be home."
The Fair Jeanne will be in Charlottetown until Sunday and then head to Summerside for a day.
