Maybe Old Man Winter forgot to check his calendar.
Wednesday might be the first official day of spring, but Maritimers were bracing Tuesday for another wintry blast.
Environment Canada said a low-pressure system was expected to dump between 10 and 20 centimetres of snow over most of Nova Scotia by Wednesday morning.
CBC meteorologist Kalin Mitchell said the nasty conditions will likely make for a slow commute and advises that people give themselves some extra time on Wednesday to get where they're going.
Snow ahead of the system had already started to fall by Tuesday afternoon in southwestern parts of the province, with forecasters warning of the possibility of ice pellets and freezing rain in those areas.
Between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow was expected on P.E.I.
More snow was expected in New Brunswick, where forecasters were predicting up to 25 centimetres before changing over to flurries Wednesday afternoon.
Forecasters were also warning of strong winds and blowing snow in some areas.
