Stratford offers showerhead exchange

The Town of Stratford, P.E.I. is offering residents low-flow-showerheads in exchange for their old showerheads in an effort to conserve water.
Coun. Emile Gallant, chair of the town's infrastructure committee, said there are 100 low-flow showerheads up for grabs.
"It will reduce the water people use. Showers and baths take up about 35 per cent of household daily water use, so if you are able to control it at the source then definitely people will be using less water," said Gallant.
Water usage isn't as big a problem in Stratford as it has been in Charlottetown, he said, and the town is in the process of commissioning a new well.
Charlottetown offered low-flow showerheads for sale out of city hall for $4 a piece last fall, and is planning another promotion to get people to install more low-flow devices this spring.
