Teenager found in snowbank hospitalized

RCMP on P.E.I. are trying to figure out how a Montague area teenager wound up in distress in a snowbank last week.
Police are focusing on the six hours between when the teenager left school and when he was found in a snowbank, says RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar. (CBC)RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar told CBC News police were called to the scene on Peters Road last Wednesday at around 7:30 p.m. They found a 16-year-old boy in the snowbank. Police are trying to piece together what happened from the moment the teen left Montague Regional High School to the point he was found in the snow bank.
"We know that he was last seen probably at about 1:30 in the afternoon at school," said Blackadar.
"We're trying to fill in those six hours to find out exactly where he was. And certainly once we are able to talk to this individual we're sure he'll be able to fill in a lot of that timeline for us."
The teenager is recovering at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Blackadar said police have spoken with the teen's parents. He said social media accounts of what happened that day are false.
