Some schools are closing and RCMP are warning drivers to take extreme caution due to blowing snow and poor visibility in parts of eastern P.E.I.

The Morell family of schools and Souris family of schools are closing at noon Thursday because of poor weather conditions. The French Language school in Souris is also closing.

Plow dispatchers are recommending drivers avoid the St. Peters area.

RCMP are reporting extreme whiteout conditions in the some areas, with the worst problems around Souris, Morell and Dundas. They say if people have to be on the road, they should use extreme caution.
