Police say a Summerside, P.E.I., man was stabbed multiple times after he tried to track down the vandals who smashed the windows of his travel trailer.
The trailer owner and a second individual, who said he had a description of the suspects, left to find them Saturday night before 10 p.m.
Soon after they found the four alleged culprits on Northumberland Street near Willow Avenue.
Police said the owner and a 21-year-old man from Breadalbane got into an altercation. The Breadalbane man was armed and the owner was stabbed multiple times in the chest and legs.
The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested.
The trailer owner was taken to the Prince County Hospital where he received medical treatment and was later released.
The suspect was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and damage to property under $5,000.
Police said the two individuals travelling with the suspect might have known a family member of the victim.
The investigation continues.
