The Milton Community Hall was built in 1960 to replace the the North Milton Hall (miltonvalepark.com)People in Miltonvale Park, P.E.I. welcomed the grand opening of their newly renovated community hall on Saturday.
The old hall was originally built in 1960.
The renovations started in October 2011 and cost almost $500,000.
"When we talk [about] communities years ago you'd have your hall, you'd have your church, you'd have your community store. It was the centre of our community," said George Piercy, chair of the Milton Community Hall.
"In the last so many years it has gone down in its condition. It needed to be updated, so it's a re-establishment of an old building in our community and we gutted it, we put it back together and it's a beautiful facility and we're open for business again."
The hall now includes a new entrance, stage, updated kitchen and meeting space.
