November was a good month all around on the Prince Edward Island job front.
The unemployment rate fell from 11.7 per cent in October to 11.4 per cent. The drop came despite more people getting out and looking for work. Job growth came exclusively in the part-time work category. The number of full-time jobs was unchanged.
The growth in the workforce was particularly significant, rising above 82,000 for the first time since January.
Despite an overall strong month the unemployment rate remained above 11 per cent, where it has been almost every month since the middle of 2010.
