Chris Cayole is one of three players returning to play for the Summerside Storm this year. (Summerside Storm)The Summerside Storm will be back for a second season in the National Basketball League, but not many of its original players will.
Just three of last year's 12 players will return. They are small forward Chris Cayole, point guard Al Stewart and Prince Edward Islander Doug McKinney.
Head Coach Joe Salerno said after finishing second last in the standings last year he felt he had to shake things up.
"Obviously we had to make some changes from last year's roster," said Salerno.
"We have a goal this season to make the playoffs. Last year we lost an awful lot of close games. There was certainly some things we have to do differently this season. So we thought getting a little new blood in here, a couple of more veteran players, was the route we wanted to go."
Salerno said there are a couple of players not returning that he did want on the team, but they chose to play in other leagues.
The team's final roster will be determined by the end of the month. The Storm will play its first regular season at Credit Union Place on Nov. 2.
