A Charlottetown woman's quest to wear the ruby slippers has come to an end.
Michelle Bouey, 21, was sent home Monday night from the CBC reality show Over the Rainbow.
Michelle Bouey was sent home Monday night from the CBC reality show 'Over the Rainbow'. (CBC)Bouey was one of nine singers hoping to land the lead role in the Canadian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz.
Bouey performed against Etobicoke, Ont.'s Jessie Munroe in a sing-off to stay on the show.
In the end, Bouey’s performance fell short and she became the second Dorothy to end her journey on the series.
Bouey studied musical theatre at Sheridan College and is trained in jazz, tap, Celtic step, cello, piano, scatting and pop riffing.
Her stage credits include playing Mimi in Rent and being the lead vocalist in Let the Light Shine In.
She said the experience was amazing.
"The experience of becoming a family with all of these girls, they're my family now," she said.
Bouey told the crowd, though she was sad to go home, she had learned a lot.
"It's just been incredible."
