The federal government is allowing the resumption of the shellfish harvest around the eastern shore of P.E.I. from Tracadie Bay to Point Prim.
A large section of the shore was closed on Sept. 11 following a heavy rainfall due to concerns about runoff from the shore affecting water quality.
Shellfishing in Tracadie Bay and the Hillsborough River opened earlier this week.
One area still remains closed. No harvesting is allowed from Point Prim to Hillsborough Bay within three kilometers of the coastline.
