A search has begun along the Gulf Shore Parkway in P.E.I. National Park, looking for a missing 90-year-old man.

The truck belonging to Everett Clow of Charlottetown was found Friday morning on the roadside near North Rustico. Parks Canada staff are leading the search.

Clow was reported missing after a doctor's appointment in Hunter River at 9:15 a.m. Thursday.

"The truck was found on a dirt road off the travel portion of the highway here in the national park on the North Shore parkway. It is down not parked in an odd location, in terms of it may be a location where somebody would park if they wanted to go for a walk on the beach," said RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar.

"We are looking at the vehicle and we are trying to determine if there is anything suspicious in the vehicle. From everything we've learned so far and all the evidence that we've gathered, Mr. Clow was in a good frame of mind when he left the doctor's office. It was a routine doctor's appointment and it is not uncommon for him to walk in various areas, so it may be something as simple as he did decide to go for a walk here yesterday and he has become stranded somewhere."

Clow is 5'8" and 180 lbs and has white hair. He may be wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing black pants, a two-tone jacket and a silver shirt.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the RCMP at 566-7112 or their local police.
