Teenagers hospitalized in highway accident

One teenager has been treated and released but another is still in hospital following a highway accident in eastern P.E.I.
One of the teenagers has already been released from hospital. (Patrick Faller/CBC)The 16-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger were driving to their first day of school in Montague. The car rolled and left the highway shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Route 326 in Valleyfield, said RCMP. The parents of the girls have been notified.
One of the two was transported to the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague. She was treated for a sprained wrist and released. the other girl is still at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown with fractures to her legs. The jaws of life had to be used to remove one person.
Both girls were wearing their seatbelts.
RCMP closed a section of Route 326 while a collision analyst investigated, but it has been reopened.
