Crane attends prime minister's BBQ in Nova Scotia

Olive Crane, P.E.I.’s opposition leader, and most of her caucus were in Amherst, Nova Scotia yesterday for a Conservative party barbecue with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
There were about 800 registered guests.
Crane says she felt it was important to attend to outline once again issues of concern to Islanders.
“With him were a variety of federal ministers and senators, but also the leader of the PC Party in Nova Scotia and the premier of New Brunswick,” Crane said.
“So for myself and our caucus, I felt it was really important to speak to as many people as possible over some of the issues that Islanders are concerned about. For example in the fisheries — fleet separation, having tags issued for lobster traps, the whole area of employment insurance.”
Crane says she didn't get any concrete answers from Harper, but she's confident the Island concerns were heard.
Harper was also in New Brunswick Wednesday for the official opening of the Beaubassin Research Station in Aulac.
