Job search blogs
School, university and college all start up in just a few weeks and for the first time in a very long time, I will not be sitting in a classroom that first day.
It feels very weird. I am no longer a student. I must now enter the workforce as a young adult. That is, of course, once I’m able to get work.
A former professor of mine suggested that I look into a different kind of work while I continue my job hunt - namely, that I set myself up as a freelance copy editor. A copy editor is someone who looks over a soon-to-be-published manuscript for badly worded sentences, errors in grammar, spelling and other such mistakes and corrects them. It seems like an enjoyable line of work and I am certainly looking into it.
If nothing comes of it, I’m keeping my options open by continuing to look for work here on the Island.
