Charlottetown prepares for Parade Day
Several streets will be closed for parade

Charlottetown is readying for Parade Day, in which the city hosts Atlantic Canada’s largest parade.
There are road closures and parking restrictions in Charlottetown Friday along the parade route.
Floats start arriving at the staging area for the Gold Cup Parade at 7 a.m.
North River Road from Seaview to McGill will close starting then, and will remain closed until around noon.
Starting at 8 a.m., the rest of North River will close down to Brighton Road and Brighton Road and Euston Street will be closed over to University Avenue.
University Avenue down to Grafton Street will be closed, as well as Grafton Street over to Queen Street, and Queen Street to Water Street.
A parking ban is in effect along this route from early morning tomorrow until around noon.
It's recommended people park east of the route.
The Gold Cup Parade is a part of Old Home Week, which focuses attention on P.E.I.'s harness racing industry.
The parade has been a yearly tradition since 1960.
