Connaughton misses out on 200m final, places 7th in semi
But could still run for Canada in the 4x100m relay on Friday

A time of 20.64 seconds and a seventh place finish in the men's 200 metre semi-finals was not enough for P.E.I.'s Jared Connaughton to secure a spot in the men's 200 metre final on Thursday.
Connaughton, 27, finished 0.63 seconds behind Yohan Blake, the top qualifier in the heat.
Connaughton's former coach, Colin MacAdam, said the sprinter has many reasons to be proud.
"Jared had a, I'm going to call it, a solid run. He ran a good turn but faded a little bit on the final hundred. The effort was there. The results aren't exactly what he wanted but I'm sure he worked as hard as he could," he said.
Connaughton qualified for the semi-final on Tuesday, placing third in his heat with a time of 20.72 seconds. His time was the slowest of the 24 athletes who moved on to the semi-finals.
Connaughton faced the most challenging of the three semi-final races. It featured four runners with personal bests under 20 seconds, including 100 metre silver medallist Blake from Jamaica. Connaughton's personal best is 20.30 seconds.
The men's 200 metre final will take place Thursday at 4:55 p.m. AT.
Connaughton's 2012 run may not be over. The final four racers for Canada's 4x100m relay team have not been announced, but Connaughton is hopeful he will be a part of it. The first men's 4x100m relay goes on Friday.
