Prince Edward Islander Jared Connaughton has qualified for the 200-metre semi-finals with a time of 20.72 seconds.
Connaughton finished third in his heat, the final heat of the qualifying round. Connaughton finished thousandths of a second behind Kei Takase of Japan. Churandy Martina of the Netherlands won the heat with a time of 20.58.
Canadian teammate Aaron Brown also qualified, finishing third in his heat with a time of 20.55 seconds.
