It wasn't easy getting off P.E.I. Monday after the Cavendish Beach Music Festival.
There were lengthy delays at the Confederation Bridge toll booths as thousands of tourists headed back home after a weekend on P.E.I.
Reports said traffic was backed up for several kilometres.
Bridge officials said they had extra staff on standby.
The company brought in three extra employees to handle the backlog, opening up all seven toll booths.
At the other end of the Island, traffic was backed up at Northumberland Ferries as well.
The traffic delays did benefit some businesses in Borden-Carleton. Visitors filled up with gas, bought food and souvenirs while they waited.
