RCMP say there's no evidence of animal cruelty after a dead dog was found stuffed inside a pillowcase that washed up on a P.E.I. beach in May.
The animal, which police described as a small but mature terrier-type dog, was found in a pillowcase sealed with a zip tie in the Hyde Point beach area.
Police say tests performed on the animal found no indication of trauma.
They say it's still unclear how the dog died, but there is no evidence the animal was thrown into the water alive.
The Mounties say they are concluding their investigation.
