Police identify man in fatal crash near Middleton, P.E.I.

Police have identified the man who died in a single vehicle crash on the Kinkora Highway Wednesday.
Robert Bruce Dawson, 57, of Travellers Rest, P.E.I. was driving a 2008 Mack Tractor hauling gravel, said RCMP in East Prince.
RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar said the crash happened shortly after 11:30 a.m. The truck was travelling northbound on Route 1A when it veered off the highway and rolled over, said Blackadar.
"The individual was taken to the Prince County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.The RCMP are attempting to determine what caused the crash," he said.
The overturned truck near Middleton, P.E.I. (Federico Cahis/CBC)Police said weather and road conditions were ideal at the time of the accident and an autopsy will be conducted to try and determine if a medical condition may have been a contributing factor in why the vehicle left the highway.
RCMP in East Prince are asking drivers to avoid the scene at the intersection of Route 1A and Route 225. Traffic has been reduced to a single lane since the collision.
