A local artisan co-operative reopened in Abram-Village, P.E.I. Wednesday.

La Coopérative d'artisanat d'Abram-Village has been using the venue to sell Acadian-inspired crafts, like quilts and pottery, for 45 years.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the province each contributed close to $12,000 to renovate the venue.

The building upgrades included adding more space and lighting and installing new display cases.

National Revenue Minister Gail Shea and Fisheries Minister Ron McKinley were there for the event.
