Man charged with home invasions to stay in jail

A 24-year-old Charlottetown man charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and break and enter after two violent home invasions will remain in jail until his next court appearance.
Mark William Kneebone appeared in provincial court Tuesday morning. He didn't oppose the Crown's request for a remand.
Police allege he forced his way into an apartment on St. Peter's Road Friday afternoon armed with a knife.
The 83-year old resident said she was knocked to the ground and injured. Her purse was then stolen.
Kneebone was also charged in connection with a home invasion on Queen Street, April 30.
In that case, a 55-year-old woman reported that two men had forced their way into her home, police said.
The woman was grabbed from behind and the thieves demanded pills. They made off with prescription medication and a laptop computer.
Cameron Geoffrey Dobson, 20, of Clyde River, was also charged in that case. He also appeared in court Tuesday morning.
Dobson's request for bail for health reasons was denied.
Both men will appear in court again on May 17.
