A 26-year-old Brackley man pleaded guilty Wednesday to crashing his car into a Charlottetown duplex last October.
James Joshua Clark pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving and one count of impaired driving in provincial court in Charlottetown.
Clark was driving at least 104 km/h southbound on Brackley Point Road at 3 a.m. on October 16. He ran through stoplights at Belvedere Avenue and failed to merge on to St. Peter's Road. He drove straight, hit two parked cars, went airborne on the curb and crashed into the duplex.
The car became engulfed in flames and the building caught on fire. No one in the building was hurt.
Damage to car, duplex and contents was more than $250,000.
Clark and his girlfriend walked away from the crash.
Clark was driving with a suspended licence, without valid insurance in an unregistered vehicle.
The defence lawyer said Clark is sorry and glad no one was hurt.
Sentencing will take place April 18.
