The owner of Advanced Shuttle will have to wait a little longer to find out if he can set up service between P.E.I. and New Brunswick after objections were filed against the proposal.
The Kensington, P.E.I.-based business has asked New Brunswick's regulator if it can run two 15-seat shuttles from the Island, with stops in Port Elgin, Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.
The deadline for objections to the proposal was Tuesday. A spokeperson for the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board said at least three objections were filed, so a public hearing will have to be held.
Intervenors include both Acadian Bus Lines and the union representing its workers, who have been locked out since early December. An objection was also filed by the mothers of two Bathurst basketball players killed in a 15-passenger van accident in 2008.
The date for the hearing has not yet been set.
