Team Canada beat the Austrian home team 9-0. Walsh made 16 saves. The Austrian goalie faced 44 shots.
Canada plays Finland Wednesday.
Curlers in playoffs
The other Islander at the games, curler Emily Gray of O'Leary, is heading to the quarter finals in mixed curling after beating Japan 9-4 Tuesday morning.
Canada assured itself second place in its division with the win, behind Sweden. The top four teams in each division advance. The team finished round robin play Tuesday afternoon with a 6-4 win against Germany.
Playoffs will run all day Wednesday, with the gold medal game starting at 2 p.m. AT.
