Montague might have an arsonist in its midst and RCMP are considering releasing a video showing the person who set the latest fire.
The fire was set at the Down East Mall on August 14, just before midnight. This followed two dumpster fires a week earlier.
Police believe all three fires could have been set by the same person.
In the latest incident, the unidentified male captured on mall security video was setting a bundle of cardboard on fire.
An adjacent trailer containing merchandise for the Sears store in the mall was destroyed. The damage is valued at $25,000.
The video footage is currently being analyzed by the RCMP audio/video analysis section in Ottawa.
"We're just hoping that someone will come forward, not only through us but through Crime Stoppers, because right now we're just dealing with property damage. And if these continue, we could certainly have personal injury, because fires spread," said Montague RCMP Cpl. Blair Ross.
"It's dangerous, and, you know, the police can't be everywhere all the time. This is why we're hoping that somebody out there knows something and wants to help us out," added Ross.
A decision could be made later today to release the video to CBC-TV.
