Heavy rain has flooded streets in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Authorities are advising drivers to avoid Queen Elizabeth Drive, Beach Street, Walthen Drive, Orlebar Street, Queen at Eden and Queen at Belvedere and Summer Street.

Churchill Avenue, Park Street, Grafton Street and Clair Street are also having problems.

Police had to stop a group of teens who were swimming on Desbrisay Crescent. Officers said it was not safe or healthy to do so.

CBC News heard from a driver on St. Peters Road who said the water was higher than the running board of his car.

Other problem areas include the construction zone along Riverside Drive and the Mount Edward roundabout.
