What are the songs from Atlantic Canada that everyone needs to know?
During the first two weeks of April, CBC Radio's Mainstreet on P.E.I. assembled the Essential East Coast Playlist. Listeners called and wrote in with their favourite Atlantic Canadian tunes. After sifting through hundreds of suggestions, we put together a cross section of your picks, an Atlantic Canada Top 40.
Then we turned to you. Which of these songs would you pick for the essential east coast track?
Ten days of voting brought the following results. While CBC.ca/news visitors came to the site roughly equally from the four Atlantic Canada news pages, and votes were cast from 21 different countries, the voting reflects how P.E.I. fans really got behind their artists.
