One of P.E.I.'s few sex shops has fallen victim to the recession.

Sheriffs have changed the locks on the doors of Afternoon Delight, which earlier this month marked 10 years in business. Owner Cheryl Leyte-MacLeod said on Monday that sales had dropped off as a result of the recession.

The sex shop caused a mild sensation when it first opened in Charlottetown.

Leyte-MacLeod said she had done brisk business until this year, but with the economic downturn Islanders just didn't seem to have the discretional income to spend on sex toys.
