All traffic, including large trucks, was moving again Sunday across the Confederation Bridge between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.

The bridge had been closed to high-sided vehicles, buses and motorcycles since early Friday because high winds posed a safety risk.

Operators of the 13-kilometre span said the forecast looks good for the remainder of the weekend and they don't anticipate any more restrictions.

The restrictions marked the longest period of time that crossings have been limited due to wind since the bridge opened in May 1997, according to bridge controller Anne Compton.

Late Saturday afternoon, winds in the Northumberland Strait were measuring 100 km/h, with gusts of up to 133 km/h, Compton said.
