Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff touted his party's policies on the environment during a visit Saturday to P.E.I., saying it's just one area where there's a clear difference between the Liberals and Conservatives.
He spent the morning greeting people at the Farmers Market in Charlottetown, where the main topic was the environment and Canada's perceived poor performance in that regard.
Ignatieff said he's going directly to Canadians to present his party's platform on that and other issues.
"We've put some very strong environmental policy out there. We've got very strong policies on education. And we're convinced that as we put an alternative forward to the Harper government, people are going to say 'We've got a clear choice between Mr. Harper and Mr. Ignatieff's Liberals and we're going to go with Mr. Ignatieff's Liberals.'"
During the afternoon, Ignatieff took part in a forum at a local pub with university students and members of the Young Liberals of P.E.I.
And he was the keynote speaker at the P.E.I. Liberals' 31st annual fall dinner, where he was to share a table with Liberal Premier Robert Ghiz.
