Canada's sledge hockey team settled for a silver medal after losing 3-2 in overtime to the United States in Saturday's gold medal game at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Charlottetown.
Greg Westlake of Oakville, Ont., scored his fourth goal in two games to give Canada a 2-1 lead early in the third period.
But it wasn't enough.
Bubba Torres of the U.S. tied the game with just 59 seconds remaining in regulation time and Taylor Chace scored the winner in overtime to give the Americans the gold.
Chace's marker was a short-handed goal.
Billy Bridges also scored for Canada while Tim Jones added a goal for the Americans.
Jones's goal late in the second period was the first goal allowed by Canada in the tournament.
Canada had won the event's first two editions, taking gold at the 2007 event in Kelowna, B.C., and the 2008 tournament in Charlottetown.
In the bronze-medal game earlier Saturday, Tommy Rovelstad scored two goals to lead Norway to a 4-0 win over Japan.
