We would like to thank all of our friends and members of the community for their thoughts and concern. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family.
First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with our daughter, Laura, and her colleagues. We are confident of their safe and timely release.
Laura is in Darfur to help the people in the area and believes very strongly in the work that she is doing there. This is her fourth mission with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
At this time, we request that our family is given privacy in order for us to keep all lines of communication open as we await news from both Laura and Médecins Sans Frontières.
