Nearly 20 years after Byron Carr was found murdered in his Charlottetown home, local police believe they may be getting closer to solving the crime.
A witness has stepped forward describing a man on a bicycle who was seen speaking to Carr at about 3 a.m., on Nov. 11, 1988. Police believe Carr was killed sometime between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. that day.
The witness said Carr was in his vehicle when he stopped at the corner of Prince and Richmond streets. After the two spoke, the man on the bike appeared to follow him home, according to the witness.
The new information matches the police timeline for Carr's whereabouts on the morning of his death.
The man on the bicycle is described as a white male in his early or mid-20s, meaning he would be in his 40s today.
Police are asking anyone who might have further information to contact them.
